Have you got stuck with no new ideas on WHAT TO WEAR for your family portraits? You are not alone. A lot of us will go back to same style of plain white top and denim bottom. It's kind of the same from one photo to the next one. We should go one step ahead with our creativity and show our own personality.
The first thing is that we don't need to wear a uniform. We are not doing school photos or a soccer team portrait. The basic choice is that to choose a similar tone for our outfit and simple pattern. Reason being, we want to show our facial expression and our face :) I will show you some examples that I found on Pinterest. Yep! They are from Pinterest. Best friend to creativity and inspiration.
You might wonder whether it's ok if one is wearing black, one is blue, one is red, one is yellow. Well, I suppose if you want to have a coloured theme then it's ok. The colours can show the lively spirit of your family. You can mix and match the colours as long as it's the same tone.
If you love earthy tone, then you might want to choose similar tone of brown, read and orange. An accent of bright colour will be fine.
Bottom line is what ever you choose, you must feel comfortable and the outfit shows the story of your family portrait.
When you book your next family portrait with me, I will guide you what to prepare for your outfit and other bits and pieces to make sure that your family portrait session is fun and enjoyable.
